Fotofestival Horizonte Zingst 2010
Happy that I've won 3rd place in Fotofestival Horizonte Zingst Contest, Horizonts - in Focus: National Parks.
I'm exited about the festival; to meet other photographers there
and of course to see one of my images in 3x3 meter. :)
The festival is open from 29.05.2010 - 06.06.2010. Maybe meet you there.

I am really proud to announce that my photograph Alone Again won 1st place in National Geographics "Mein Paradies" Contest.

2009 International Photography Awards Announces Winners of the Competition
Dave Derbis was awarded in the International Photography Awards Competition.
International Photography Awards (IPA) has announced the winners of 2009's competition.
Dave Derbis was Awarded: Honorable Mention in Nature - Landscapes category for the winning entries "Ocean's Fury", "Forces of Nature", "One of us has died", "Like a candle in the wind", "Glacier Bay", "Forsaken Hospital".
About IPA:
The 2009 International Photography Awards received nearly 18,000 submissions from 104 countries across the globe. IPA is a sister-effort of the Lucie Foundation, where the top three winners are announced at the annual Lucie Awards gala ceremony. The Foundation's mission is to honor master photographers, to discover new and emerging talent and to promote the appreciation of photography. Since 2003, IPA has had the privilege and opportunity to acknowledge and recognize contemporary photographer's accomplishments in this specialized and highly visible competition.

Canons Assignment Contest
Article about me an my achievements in Canon's The Assignment contest.
"...Held across 18 European countries between March and May, The Assignment 2008 saw a total of 43,404 images submitted in four categories – Portrait, Landscape, Sport and Macro. National category winners were judged against those from other competing countries by an expert panel, chaired by award-winning reportage, portrait and travel photographer Vicki Couchman."

I'm the winner category landscape, germany and also one of two finalists in this category for the mission in Vienna.
About 43000 people from 18 countries participated in the category landscape.
