autumn, forest, foliage, stream, ilse, harz, germanyMotivation Today a lot of people (including possible clients) will first and foremost see your work online in some sort of a web gallery on your own personal website or social media like Facebook, Google+ or 500px. Therefore the resized web versions of your photos should be presented at their best. Over the years I've tried lots of different methods and I am now using a combination of various techniques in order to get the best results possible. sunset, lofoten, sunstar, fjord, moos, grass, lake, norwayBack in 2013, from mid-august to mid-september, we spent some weeks above the arctic circle on the Lofoten Islands in northern Norway. During the first part of the trip we were based in a beautiful and cozy rorbuer in Hamnøya near Reine on Mosekenesøya and did some decent mountain hikes (steep up to 70%) like Reinebringen, Kvalvika Beach and Bunes Beach and visited lots of other worth seeing villages, mountains and beaches like Eggum-, Uttakleiv- and Unstad Beach on Flakstadøya and Vestvågøya.     Nordpollen Road - Prints Available ... Another absolutely great article from Guy Tal. "... So, no matter what “it” you look at, it’s all about… absolutely nothing. No matter who you are, what you do, where you live, what you love, what you are passionate about, what you photograph, or what you think “it” is all about – it’s not. Except, that is, to you and to those you touch, right here, right now. Take a few steps back and any “it” is ... Continue reading →

iceland, falls, skogafoss, coast, canon, assignment, remote, bnw This article was first published on capturingthelandscape.com. Editor’s Note:  If you ask any passionate landscape photographer what their dream location is, I’m fairly certain the majority of them would probably say Iceland.  For those who might be wondering why, then let this incredible photograph be your answer – I for one, cannot take my eyes off it! Stephen Dickey In September 2008 I was on a one week trip through Iceland with four guys from an independent ‘brand communications’ company from the UK, plus three Icelandic guides. The ... Sneffels Burning You know because it hurts. Hey there! Today I want to share another of Guy Tals fantastic articles: [...] In the hurried, multi-tasking, attention-deficient world we created for ourselves, merely experiencing anything in pure form may require some discipline. What so many ancient cultures knew, we have lost: the importance of being able to focus the mind onto a single thread, prioritizing attention to allow thos ... Continue reading →

Sneffels Burning In the Blink of a Lifetime Found that interesting journal entry on Guy Tals Blog. Check it out by clicking here. "Somewhere in Colorado, a local radio announcer spoke longingly of his “weekend getaway” in the mountains. In this land of opportunity, why would anyone choose a life they need to get away from? Why do so many spend their lives in fear of living; constantly seeking t ... Continue reading →
