harz, sunset, sunstar, brocken, cliff, leistenklippe, forest, highland, germany Rundwanderung Hohnekamm bei Drei Annen Hohne Notice: To all non-german speaking of you; I write the trip-reports done in Germany in german but all upcoming international trip-reports will be written in english.

I had to realize that my current travel photo-backpack is not designed for long walks with heavy weight. In Rome we walked for hours each day and over 45km overall in three days. At the end of the second day my back hurts so bad that I could hardly move anymore. So the next day I only packed the absolute minimum equipment to carry through the city. Of course that day I missed a shot I could have nailed with another lens which I left in the hotel due to its weight. Of course I don't want this to happen again, hence this article. When I planed and packed ... Continue reading →

easyjet, plane, air, clouds, wing, 2013 On sunday night we returned from a short trip to the eternal city, Rome in Italy. It was a nice trip and we were lucky with the weather from a touristic and a photographic point of view. No bluebird skies but also no rain. We walked about 45km through the city, did some shopping, had nice food and saw lots of the sights of Rome like the famous Colloseum, Forum Romanum, Piazza Venezia, Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna, Pantheon, Piazza Navuno, Villa Medici, Piazza Popolo, Place de Republica and of course the Vatican with the breathtaking huge Basillica di San Pietro and climed the Capulo ... hiking, harz, oderteich, trail, tour, steg, 2012 Auf einer meiner Herbst-Harztouren war dieses Mal auch der Oderteich, zwischen Braunlage und Bad Harzburg gelegen, dabei. Continue reading →

Recently I returned from a three weeks photo trip spanning from the Baltic Sea, Germany in the north south to the Dolomites in Italy. I drove about 3500km - partway on extreme alpine roads in the Alps. Hiked up to about 2700m above sea level; saw awesome landscapes and had a nice time with some interesting weather and lighting conditions. I'm really looking forward to select and process some of the over 1200 photos I've shot. Continue reading →

We got some good light, saw awesome beaches, cliffs, mountains and drove along some exciting alpine roads, and might even have had an epic moment or two. I can't wait to process some of the nearly 30GB of new photos and videos I brought back home... :) Continue reading →
